Join the AIO Team
AIO is always looking for qualified employees to spend an unforgettable summer (or many summers!) working with wonderful students and colleagues as we explore the coasts of Acadia National Park. Potential candidates should have experience working with kids in school settings or in camp settings. Potential candidates should also hold an undergraduate degree in the sciences or education or be working toward a degree. See below for open positions.

Intern Staff
We are always on the lookout for motivated intern staff members who are currently working toward an undergraduate degree in the sciences or education. We encourage former AIO students to apply! This summer experience is a wonderful opportunity to get your feet wet literally and metaphorically in the field of outdoor education! Intern Staff will work closely with our teaching faculty to deliver instruction, manage students during recreation activities and free time, and help with the day-to-day upkeep of our program and building. Intern staff should expect to live with students in our dorms for the entirety of the summer.
Intern Staff are provided with room and board and are paid bi-weekly. All staff members are given two and half days off per two week session with one day off between sessions. We also provide a paid one-week training period at the beginning of the summer that is required for all staff members. We prioritize applicants who can commit to our entire 10-week summer.
Teaching Staff
Our Teaching Staff members deliver all of our core academic and recreational curricula and live at our facility with the students in our dorms. Teaching Staff come from all over with diverse backgrounds in the sciences and education and have a strong work ethic and a desire to interact with and teach motivated students. These summer teaching positions are a wonderful opportunity to work with other enthusiastic teachers while exploring Acadia National Park.
